TVA (transverse abdominal)

DETAILS: The TVA is the deepest of the 6 abdominal muscles. Extending between the ribs and pelvis, it wraps around the trunk from front to back. The fibers of this muscle runs horizontally.

FUNCTION: Stabilizes the vertebral column. Flexes and rotates the trunk. Additionally it compresses and supports internal viscera (internal organs)

APPLICABLE EXERCISES: Any and every plank based stabilization exercise
